Wrexham Athletic Club are sad to announce that Ray Jarvis, a stalwart of Wrexham AAC and Wrexham Special Olympics passed away on Monday morning. He was 95.
Ray competed for Wrexham AAC for many years and he was the organiser of many races for the club over the years and raising many thousands of funds for the club and charities alike. He always put athletes first and I was privileged to win many of his races including the Round Bala and Coedpoeth 5.
Ray was also instrumental in setting up the Wrexham Special Olympics in 2007 which has gone on from strength to strength with the clubs athletes excelling at national and international level.
Ray was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed by the running family. Our condolences to Ray's family and friends from Wrexham AAC.
